University of Central Florida
GPA: 4.1-4.5
SAT: 1260-1380
ACT: 26-30
The admissions counselor mentioned something that I talked about in a recent tour post. He said that if your credentials aren’t quite high enough to be accepted, sometimes they will admit you to start in the summer. It’s a six week long term during which students take one course. It’s a fun way to get acclimated to the school. Speaking of those credentials, the midrange GPA (after they recalculate it using only core classes) is 3.96-4.46, SAT of 1255-1375, and ACT of 26-30. They also gave the class average scores of 4.22, 1335, and 28.3. He said that students should continue taking the SAT or ACT until December and advised that they apply now with the other parts of the application and submit scores later if need be (they will superscore). UCF has rolling admissions and advised students to enroll early to have a smaller applicant pool, have more scholarship opportunities, and have the first choice of housing. If you apply early, you will receive your admissions decision in six to eight weeks.
Some of their accolades include the following: Kiplinger, Forbes, and the Princeton Review rank a UCF education among the nation’s best values. It’s ranked in the top 20 most innovative colleges according to U.S. News and World Report. They have earned the Carnegie Foundation’s highest ranking for research activity. The Rosen College of Hospitality Management is in the top five in the world by CEOWorld magazine. They set records for diversity in 2021 with 49% of students being students of color, and they have earned the designation of being a Hispanic Serving Institution because more than 27% of their undergraduates are Hispanic. For Florida residents, the annual cost (including room and board) is about $19,000. Go, Knights!
