Boston University

In one sentence, Boston University is a large, private, urban, teaching and research university. They believe that you don’t just attend college, you define it. It is home to 17,000 undergrads from more than 182 countries and all 50 states. BU has a rich history of being inclusive of all types of people. 19% of their students are first generation, 23% are international, and 30% are white. They value diversity. It is located in the heart of Boston, which is the 25th or 26th biggest city in the US. All the cultural offerings of a big city are easily accessible. The campus is located on a 1.25 mile stretch right along the Charles River. It’s a very residential campus even though it’s located in the city. It’s also very walkable, and the T runs right through campus. Housing is offered all four years, and 85% of students take advantage of that.
