Emerson College
Boston, MA
Emerson College is an urban school located in the heart of downtown Boston right at the edge of Boston Common. It was founded as a communications and arts school and remains that way today. There are 4100 undergrad students. Their student to faculty ratio is 13 to 1, and the average class size is 25 students, but most classes have 14 to 18 students. This means that professors and faculty are able to form strong connections with all their students. Every class is taught by a professor except for one first year literature class. Students come to Emerson from 47 states and 79 countries. They value learning from the diverse perspectives of students from all over. They guarantee housing for three years in one of their five dorms. Students are able to cross register at other Boston schools. Another popular option is a semester or an internship at their Los Angeles campus.
