Hofstra University

Hofstra is a medium size university. Our admissions representative called it a “smedium” school because they have 6224 undergraduates. Their student to faculty ratio is 13 to 1, and the average class size is 21 students. They never have any lecture classes. The largest class is 45 students, and that would be a class like intro to psych or biology. The biggest lab class is 17 students. All classes are taught by faculty members rather than teaching assistants. They offer 175 undergraduate programs and have great hyperlinks on their website telling students all about various majors as well as each course that will be required and potential internships, etc. Hofstra is a liberal arts school with general education requirements. They also offer unlimited and free mental health counseling!
