New York City, NY

Hunter College is located in New York City on the Upper East Side. It is one of the 25 schools that make up the City University of New York group. There are subway stops all throughout campus. Their main classroom buildings are only three stops from Grand Central, and it’s easy to get to Penn Station. They even have their own subway stop so students can access the school directly from the subway without needing to go outside.

Hunter is home to 17,000 undergrads. They offer more than 70 majors and minors and have a student to faculty ratio of 19 to 1 with an average class size of 25. The middle 50% of admitted students have grades of 90 to 95. They are test optional at this point and plan to continue to not require scores. The full-time tuition for New York State residents is about $7000 per year. Tuition for out-of-state students is about $18,000 per year. If an out-of-state student wants to go to Hunter, they will be considered in-state after their first year. I have never heard of another school that does that! Most students (75%) graduate debt-free.
