New York City, NY

New York University is a campus without walls offering a seamless global education in a world without borders. Students from more than 135 countries and all 50 states attend NYU, but in this year's entering class, there are only 49 states represented. They made a joke about looking for a student from South Dakota. This is actually a very real “thing” that colleges are looking for diversity, and they all like to have all 50 states represented. NYU has the most international students of any school in the US. When people think of New York University, they think of New York City, but there are also two other main campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. Students can apply to one of these three schools. If they are admitted to a particular campus, that is the one they need to attend. New York University also has 13 other academic centers where students can study away. These are NYU dedicated campuses located in Los Angeles, Washington DC, Buenos Aires, Berlin, London, Madrid, Accra, Florence, Prague, Paris, Tel Aviv, and Sydney. The 13th one is just opening up this year and will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma and will mainly cater to STEM students. Another option for students is that they can select to do their first year away at one of those other campuses, like Washington DC, London, Madrid, or Florence.

NYU is home to about 29,000 students, and the university is split into 10 undergraduate schools and colleges. The center of the New York City campus is Washington Square Park. This is their de facto green area, and the campus buildings surround it.
