UGA is home to 40,600 students, of whom 30,700 are undergraduates. In the fall of 2023 they received more than 43,500 applications and admitted about 16,100 students. Their student to faculty ratio is 17 to one, and 89% of their classes have less than 50 students. Their university is divided into 18 colleges with more than 250 majors. The admissions representative said the exact same thing as the University of Alabama and the University of Connecticut: you can make a big school feel small, but you cannot make a small school feel big. Right now they have about 65% of students from in-state and 35% from out of state. Their aim is to be around 80 to 20, which is very common for many state schools. They definitely want a welcoming, diverse campus.
